I've had a great day out because it turned out that i actually spent half a day each with both my sisters without is being planned, the day started with me taking my eldest to his college induction day i was due to go with him but when we got there some of his friends were there ,so not wanting to be a weirdo mum hanging around i left him and told him to call me when it was time to pick him up...the best thing was he left his phone at home so he would have to call from his friends phone.
After dropping him off, and being a mum was worried and hoping he was ok and would actually call me when he was ready, so anyway i went to the local supermarket that is literally next to the college and thought i would spend some time there, as i was leaving i noticed my sister parking her car up, so decided to go say hello to her and see my little nephew who's 18 months old, he's so cute and cheeky, as i had nothing else to do i decided to join her and catch up with her, she has come to see if they had bikes she is buying bikes for her 3 girls that she had promised for there birthdays, we had a good natter and catch up whilst she shopped and we checked out the bicycles and what was brilliant they were on sale so she ended up getting 3 bikes for £140 which is an absolute bargain, i couldn't believe how quickly the time had flown, by the time we left it was nearly time to pick up my boy back from the college so i had my way back to the college, and as i was driving up to the barrier to enter the visitor car park i noticed my bubba (that's his pet name) walking out of the college about to call me, so after picking him up we made our way to another side our town to do a bit of shopping and get a bit to eat, the choice was Pizza Hut or McDonald's, he wanted Maccie D's and kept saying lets pick it up and take it home, when we got there my other sister was out shopping for a mirror.
She then joined us and decided to come and join us for lunch we decided to go Pizza Hut and have a lunch time buffet, to say i was stuffed at the end of it is a understatement but it was delicious...they do this pasta in white sauce with broccoli my absolute favourite.
All in all it was a good and brilliant day catching up and spending some quality time with my bubba.

Middle of the Week....nearly there..
So its my favourite day of a working week, its the middle of the week its WEDNESDAY....yipee.... its half way through the week, the weekend is not that far away.....anyways I'm not back to work now until next Monday, i have a day off tomorrow to spend with the eldest, who at the moment looks like a scruff pot and won't get his hair cut...he's finished his exams so is now loitering around we are going to the college he has chosen to do his A Levels at to check out what he will expect.
He doesn't know it yet but we will be going out for a bit retail therapy (shopping) and then get a bite to eat....he will of course complain about the whole day...he ideal day is getting up and sitting on that dreaded PS3. And then on Friday i have all day Union meeting...and then bring the weekend on...
Due to being off my eating habits and digestive system has gone all over the place, not sure what i fancy cooking tonite and better still what i fancy, if I'm cooking it i will choose. Guaranteed someone will say i don't like that, can't i have this or that...it's so hard trying to think of what to cook that everyone will be happy eating, so I've given up now and cook what i want, if you ask then you opening up a whole can of worms for yourself....
So the better half is at the gym, I'm of course blogging, one of the kids is playing with his friends, the scruff pot is on his PS3 and the moody one is playing on her DS.
mmhhh i quite fancy lasagna.....veggie version of course let me see if i have the ingredients and take it from there.

Back 2 Work.com
It was my first day back to work after being for off for 2 weeks, it started off with a viral infection and then by week 2 i was diagnosed with Vertigo..it has taken 3 different antibiotic prescriptions for me to feel well enough to go back to work today.
I was eager to go back, i was beginning to feel sorry for myself and then not being able to leave the house that's a whole other issue....still don't feel quite 100% but glad i took the step of going back...

Vertigo is a symptom rather than a condition itself. It's the sensation that you, or the environment around you, is moving or spinning.
This feeling may be slight and barely noticeable, or it may be so severe that you find it difficult to keep your balance and do everyday tasks.
Attacks of vertigo can develop suddenly and last for a few seconds or they may last much longer. If you have severe vertigo, your symptoms may be constant and last for several days, making normal life very difficult.
Other symptoms associated with vertigo may include:
- loss of balance, which can make it difficult to stand or walk
- nausea (feeling sick) or vomiting (being sick)
- light-headedness
So it was my wedding anniversary yesterday 18 years I've been married, my kids said "that's huge mum" i suppose it is in this day and age where it's more common to hear of divorces, i must admit part of it is the values that i grew up with, you get married and you stick with it, (if your partner is a good one).
My better half as i like to call him is totally the opposite to me, i never thought i would end up with someone like him, but we work because we compliment each other perfectly, i wouldn't say we have always been loved up and happy, we've had our fair share of ups and downs, but we got through them and we are still here and very much together and of course we have 3 gorgeous children together.
We are going out to eat on the weekend to one of my favourite buffet restaurants, i like the idea and concept of a buffet, but i know I'm gonna get full on the first plate, my kids will keep going back for the same things, whats funny is we will go out to a Indian restaurant and still have a side of fries....
I will be doing a wrap to tone my wobbly bits up tomorrow i will keep you posted as to how it goes, if it does what the package says I'm laughing i will keep wrapping until i look like a Victoria's Secret Model....
Night night peeps need my beauty sleep now, long working day ahead of me tomorrow...
God bless..

Shoe Boots...
I have been looking for the perfect shoe boots finally found some and guess what they don't have them in my size...how crap is that....shoe boots are perfect as they go with any type of trousers and even skirts....priced at £31 from ASOS i was so excited went to choose my size and add to basket so not happy right now, in my mind i had already thought of which jeans to wear them with...back to square one its taken me 2 months to find these after seeing so many, and check out how cute they look with the chain hanging on the side....it's so not fair.
Aloo Palak Porji
So i ended up cooking Indian made a dish called Aloo Palak Porji with hot chapatti's, which is made with potatoes, methi which is a little bit like spinach but richer in taste and very time consuming to prepare, but is was absolutely delicious and worth cooking for the family. And although they would rather have beans on toast when they do have the curry i always get compliments on how lovely it is.
Cricket is on this evening the final match England V India, i do not understand this boring game and my better half makes out that he's the biggest fan yet he doesn't even watch it properly so right now he's on his phone whilst I'm having to endure this boredom....six's, runs i don't get it this game is complicated to understand....plus what's really funny is the game keeps getting post-phoned as it keeps raining buckets.
We are having ice cream and my daughter has decided to make herself a banana split with ice cream instead of whipped cream as we don't have any, and from her expression i don't think she likes it oh and to top it off she's put crushed almonds on top to finish it of..but she's finishing it off very slowly because she's too proud to admit it's not what she thought it would be...lol..i must admit banana with ice cream is a very weird combo but hey each to their own.

Reality TV..
Can't wait for tonite TOWIE is on (The Only Way is Essex)...love reality TV, whether its Towie or Made in Chelsea to Real Housewives of New Jersey love that show i can't believe how catty they are to each other...but saying that i do love the way their lives revolve around family....reminds me alot of the way we are family is huge in my everyday life....
I have to say my favourite is Caroline Manzo she is brilliant and honest, can't stand Teresa she doesn't live in the real world her husband Joe is horrible and a shit stirrer and so two faced it's unbelievable but Teresa can't seem to see it, and i absolutely love Kathy she is fabulous and very real.
I have just read that Kanye West & Kim Kardashian has decided to call their baby girl North West...what the hell that child is so going to question her parents when she grows up...oh and he's now proposed and are planning to get married by September, i actually don't think Kim can live with anyone after that crazy whirlwind shotgun wedding to Kris Humphries and then it only actually lasted 72 days....everyone who watched that programme keeping up with the Kardashians and even her family could see that it wasn't going to work with that Kris guy, but no she has fallout's with her sisters over him and all sorts...and then guess what she saw what a twat he was....but it was too late by then she was married and it was huge....so if she's now planning to marry Kanye is he legally divorced the last i read was that he wasn't signing to let her go....crazy celebrity world...wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Sunday...bored.com
So it's a boring Sunday there is nothing to do and watch on TV...I'm watching Sweet Home Alabama film with Reece Witherspoon that i have just come across whilst flicking through channels...its a proper chick flick my favourite genre for films and it's very romantic.
It's really sad because I'm already thinking about what to cook tonight, do I cook Indian or something quick n easy kind of like bung it in the oven kind of easy....it's 4 o'clock in the afternoon the flipping weather can't make it's mind up...it keeps raining one minute to the next, the sun is shining right now...but for how long...I feel like going for a ride in my car...mmmhh shall I go McDonald's and get mcflurrys for the kids.
My youngest has just walked in munching on a raw carrot, my daughters getting annoyed she hates the noise her brother makes when eating...have I mentioned how hard it is being a parent...I get stuck in the middle of all pointless arguments...apparently I've got favourites, they all say one another is my golden child....when will kids understand parents DO NOT HAVE FAVOURITES.

What a day...
My car was booked into have some work done ...i found and ordered the part myself from a salvage it was 3 times cheaper than buying a brand new part from the dealer....it cost me £240 and the labour cost £150 oh and i needed new oil for the auto box so that was an extra £25 so all in all it cost me £415...but it's still worth it, because i love my car..all day i was fidgety and on edge thinking the mechanic was gonna call and say oh there's a lot more that needs to be done...but thankfully i didn't get the dreaded call...i find myself worrying about the stupidest thing these days why can't i relax and just take each day and thing as it comes....i am thankful for everything i have but do find i do stress about the silliest things....but hey i suppose that can't be helped I'm only human.
One thing i do feel guilty about is what i have eaten tonite, i was adamant i wouldn't fried chips again, but that went out of the window i had a Quorn and Leek pie with the dreaded FRIED chips and steamed vegetables and lots of onion gravy....i have sinned I'm gonna have to pay for it tomorrow now no fatty foods oh and i had some bacon flavour rasher crisps.....i feel I've let myself down i can't wait for next week when I'm back to normal weetabix for breakfast, a Forever Living shake for lunch and then a stri-fried vegetables with couscous yum-yum...

Mummy Bracelet
I've been thinking of getting a "mummy bracelet" but can't decide on which one to get, i followed the crazy trend of buying a Pandora...but where is it now i don't even know because i don't wear it, i spent a lot of money buying that bracelet and getting charms for it...the thing i don't like about bracelets like that are they seem to clank around and get in your way....
I have discovered a website www.notonthehighstreet.com they do some wonderful personalised
jewellery so i'm looking to buy a leather bracelet with personalised hoops for each of my children
but can't decide on which one to buy...the bottom one is a monogram bracelet with first initial of
each child...decisions decisions....i'm loving the cuff style bracelet's at the moment which are very
skin friendly as well.

The Weekend is Here...
So the weekend is finally here, we had veggie burgers n chips last night, trying to think of what to cook each day is so hard, there's always one person in the family that will say "do we have to eat that".....and yes you've guessed it their always the ones that complain, but can't cook themselves...i try to cook healthy for everyone not just for myself....I've cut down to having fryed food once a week.
I think its gonna be pies n chips tonite with steamed veggies....with a bread roll...my most favourite dish is hot pasta...i luuurve pasta can't get enough of it...saucy flavoursome pasta and my magic ingredient coriander and garlic....i always add coriander to everything its the best herb and makes the dish taste absolutely gorgus....and garlic just changes the whole dish even if you add 1 clove.
So I'm watching Kim & Kourtney Take on New York...in this episode Kim is feeling left out because Kourtney and Khloe are messing around and leaving her out although not intentionally, i can relate to that as i have 3 sisters of my own, don't get me wrong i love my sisters but boy can we be competitive.....but saying that wouldn't change them or my family for the world....i have 3 best friends that i can always rely on....and we have all different personalities....

Mock Duck curry Punjabi style...
So i decided to cook a vegetarian curry with lots of flavour and is gorgeous...Mock Duck curry Punjabi style...as you can see from the photo it is absolutely delicious and healthy.
We as a family came across mock duck a few years ago...its very easy to cook with i tend to make a curry or add it to noodles...it comes in tin and you can buy from any Chinese food shops....i have a very handy Chinese shop not far from me where i go to purchase all my stir-fry and Chinese food supplies....and its better than buying from your local supermarket...if anybody would like a step-by-step recipe with photo's let me know i would love to share this tasty recipe....u can eat it with chapatti's....naan bread or rice or both....i put mushrooms, spinach and peppers in mine for lots of flavour and taste.....
night night for now lets see what tomorrow brings....
Is it possible
My aim is to look like a Victoria's Secret model....it is possible i don't know ...well i'm sure as hell gonna try and get there..
Lunch
I've just had lunch a simple sandwich with onion chutney and Quorn ham with spinach, and a very small bowl of roasted vegetables tossed in lemon and coriander couscous....that's my new thing these days couscous....very easy and simple to make, so u can either buy plain couscous i find it easier buying packets so i start with chopping some onion and sauteing in a little of olive oil...you then add the mushrooms and what ever else you fancy broccoli, kidney beans, spinach (a must have) i love spinach it's also high in iron, you then add the couscous and water and wal-ha you have a very quick and easy dish....and its also very tasty...when i first gave this dish to my husband to try he said it tasted like shampoo...I'm guessing because of the lemon taste...but trust me it doesn't the lemon compliments the coriander very nicely... ;-)
The weather is gorgeous again today i think we getting a bit lucky for change with the sun, i have to say we have had terrible weather this past 7 months we had the worst winter and to top it off rain...the dreaded rain...but it all looks like its about change for the better....

A little about me & my goals
Good morning its a fine kind of dull day...we had a bit of a unexpected heatwave yesterday, the funny thing is the way people are shirtless and take their summer clothes out, but then next day it can rain...that's British weather for you...
So let me tell you a little bit about myself, I'm a working a mum i love my family and can say i have do have a good network of friends....so my journey this year started that i was adamant to make a change in my life...so in December 2012 i decided i was going to start a 9 day detox, i ordered the detox in and D-day was going to be 1st January 2013....so i started the detox on New Years Day, the first 2 days were really hard as you don't eat anything, days 3-9 you have a shake and a 600 calorie meal....now that was interesting i had to cook normal meals for my family and then work out was i was going to cook for myself keeping the limited calories in mind.....being Asian I wouldn't say the way we cook is fattening or unhealthy i cook very healthy anyway....my weakness is Italian food..pizza, pasta, garlic i love it and can't have enough.
I'm vegetarian but not a vegan, i do not eat eggs or fish, but i do have dairy products...so back to my detox i lost 3lbs by day 2 i was motivated to carry on with the detox and see how much i could lose by the end of the detox....the hard thing was not munching on a biscuit or having a packet of crisps, i steered away from the kitchen as much as i could, only going to cook at meal times..the worst thing was i was off from work that week for the holidays..so was still having to cook lunch for the family....by the end of the detox i had lost 7lbs...i carried on having a shake for lunch and a meal in the evening....so far i have lost 11lbs and 1 and half dress size....woohoo whenever i was dressing myself and found that my jeans that i used to wear and were tight were all loose and looked awful due to the sagginess and looseness, the tops i wore now looked awful and the best thing was i lost the awful muffin top i had gained....my journey has not ended as yet..i have yet to lose the awful mum tummy that i have got....that's my next journey to gain a flat before you have kids tummy....keep reading and i will keep you posted on my skinnylyfe journey...
